FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

Mentors are willing to commit to building a relationship with her mentee that will make a lasting and positive impact.   The perfect mentor for  WWAP is someone who can offer a listening ear, someone who will help navigate life’s obstacles, and someone who can model good decision-making.   Mentors are compassionate and empathetic.  They are willing to reach within and beyond their network to achieve positive results for their mentee.  WWAP mentors are dedicated to putting in the time and effort to see their mentor thrive.

A mentee is someone who is dedicated to the growth of themselves and their children.  A mentee acknowledges the support of others and values the guidance provided through the mentor/mentee relationship.  A mentee is engaged in her own growth and is open to building a relationship with her mentor.

To be involved in mentorship is a privilege for both participants.  WWAP has a screening process for mentors and mentees and requires both parties to meet specific guidelines.  If you are interested in becoming a mentor,  please follow this link to the application process, and click on the ‘About COTS‘ button and select Warrior Women Against Poverty.

Currently, WWAP selects mentees through our partnership with the Coalition On Temporary Shelter (COTS).  If you are not a member of COTS, but are a mother who is seeking a better set of life circumstances through mentorship, you can send us an email at info@warriorwomenagainstpoverty.com and we will do our best to refer you.
